As I transitioned into a plant based lifestyle, I found myself leaving social gatherings pretty hungry. Being the only vegan in my social group really narrowed my choices of table snacks. Let’s face it, carrots and celery don’t exactly hit the spot.

A typical animal inclusive meal with very little options for a vegan to choose from… Veggies and olives anyone?

Sometimes we miss the simplest solutions… this is what led me to share this short but sweet Vegan Survival Tip:

Bring your own food.

This is a win-win situation! Not only is there a guarantee that there is something I can eat but I get to share all my great recipes with everyone. It’s a great way to show that plant-based food is delicious, healthy and easy to make.

As a mom raising a vegan child, birthday parties just got more interesting. Bring that plant-based treat to share and see how long it lasts. It’s a great way to ensure my child has something to enjoy as well as spread knowledge about plant-based / vegan cooking.

In short, treat every gathering like a pot-luck and you will never leave hungry!
