Once you’ve made this at home, store bought just won’t cut it. Fist of all, this recipe is like $20 worth of hummus and it costs about $3 to make at home. Secondly, everything is better fresh, homemade and without all the junk that’s usually added in!

Prep Time: 15 minutes

  • 3 cups cooked chickpeas (canned is fine, I prefer soaked and cooked dry beans)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 tbsp tahini or tahina
  • 30 ml lemon juice (a shot glass full)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • Add all ingredients to high powered food processor or blender, blend until smooth
  • Remove to serving dish and top with paprika and cold-pressed olive oil if desired

Enjoy this amazing hummus with pitas, tortilla chips, veggies or falafel! So fast and easy and a great way to get some extra protein.
